The Applied Environmental Anthropology Research Group conducts projects in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati Region.

  • Belize Ethnographic Fieldschool - Currently in the planning stage, this ethnographic fieldschool will be in Belize during the summer of 2010.
  • Big Bone Lick State Park Ecotourism - This project partners with Big Bone Lick State Park in an effort to understand ecotourism by conducting ethnographic interviews with people who visit the park.
  • Effects of Natural Disasters on Farm Laborers - This service learning project evaluates the effects of natural disasters on farm laborers in and around San Luis Obispo, through ethnographic research.
  • Farmer Invasive Plant Folk Knowledge - Currently in the planning stage, this service learning project will partner with the Boone, Campbell and Kenton County Conservation Districts to study farmer knowledge of invasive plants.
  • Hawthorne Crossing Conservation Area - This project partners with the Conservation District of Campbell County to collect the oral history and community attitudes and beliefs concerning their Hawthorne Crossing Conservation Area.
